Good morning everyone!
ART STARTS
Thank you to those who have already sent the needed supplies (2-3 plastic bags, 2-3 apple stems, a shoe box, a egg carton and an old shirt). We start this programTuesday afternoon, so minimally please make sure your child has an old shirt they can wear to work with the clay. Thank you as well to Twyla, Angie and Lyndel who will be helping out this week. If you are able to help on one of the other weeks, please follow the link volunteer sign up or email me.
LICE & NITS
A notice went home this week about lice and nits in the school. Please reinforce with your child that lice can happen to anyone - it's not a matter of blame or shame. As well check your child's hair closely. If you are unsure what to look for this video shows what nits and lice look like in hair. We have also talked about keeping long hair tied back, not sharing hats or other clothing and maintaining our personal bubbles even with our friends. Thank for your diligence in helping our classroom stay lice-free.
HOMEWORK
Just a reminder that all students should be reading, doing their calendar activity and Monday to Thursday doing their word sorts on a regular basis. Answer keys for the word sorts and a copy of the monthly calendar are on the class website.
SPECIAL HELPERS
Special helpers this week are: Monday Trevor & Taymin; Tuesday William; Wednesday Aeidia; Thursday Alex; & Friday April. Tyson, who is away this week will be on Monday, November 30 and then we'll be back to alphabetical by first name.
ANIMAL SHOW AND TELL
A few students have expressed a desire to bring an animal to school on their sharing day. We do have a few cat allergies in the class, but most other animals should be fine. If you are willing and your child wants to bring a pet, here are a few things to know:
I'd love to give the students a chance to share and experience other people's pets, but I don't want to lose too much instructional time. Thank you for your cooperation!
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
We will start practising our yet-to-be-decided Christmas song near the end of this week and details about costumes will be coming soon. A dress rehearsal and student viewing will be on December 16 and on the following day, December 17 there will be two performances (afternoon and evening) for parents.
Enjoy your Sunday,
Pam

A few students have expressed a desire to bring an animal to school on their sharing day. We do have a few cat allergies in the class, but most other animals should be fine. If you are willing and your child wants to bring a pet, here are a few things to know:
- we generally spend less than 15 minutes sharing- I would prefer the sharing time to be either 10:00, 11:45 or 2:15 so we end on a break
- please let me know ahead of time
- animals must be well trained and/or contained
- animals must be accompanied by an adult and taken home after the show and tell
I'd love to give the students a chance to share and experience other people's pets, but I don't want to lose too much instructional time. Thank you for your cooperation!
