Good evening! It was so nice to see everyone again after the break. I hope you're all settling back into routines- I know the first week back can be hard.
MATH
We start our next unit about time this week. You can help at home by asking your child to count by fives and tell time using an analog clock or watch.
SCIENCE
We are learning about the water cycle right now.
HOMEWORK
Just a reminder that students should aim for twenty to thirty minutes of homework five nights a week. This homework should include home reading, the homework calendar activity and the nightly word sort activity. I know at times this is difficult as families have busy schedules, but setting up a routine will help your child develop good work habits and improve their skills.
ART STARTS
Our next session is Tuesday afternoon and parents are welcome. Please let me know if you can help out. Thanks to Ms. Sommer and Mrs. Weber for helping out last week.
WILDLIFE PARK FIELD TRIP
Thank you to everyone who has sent back the pink form asking for support for this activity in late spring. The responses so far are positive, but I am still waiting for quite a few forms. Please let me know if you need another form. Please DO NOT send money at this time.
HEAP THE HONDA
Thanks to those who sent donations. We will be collecting this week as well.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDERS
The flyers went home this week and I know many children saw items they liked. Some were even planning to use some of their Christmas money to buy the books themselves. It was great to see a real life application for our math lessons!
TERM OVERVIEWS
If you are interested in having more details about what your child has learned, you can check out the class website which now has a page for the term overviews.
UPCOMING
No school January 22
Unplug and Play January 22-28
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Pam
