Remember there is no school on Monday and when we return on Tuesday, it will be our library day. Students will also need a CD case or $.50 to make a seed viewer this week. Thanks to those families who have already sent their supplies.
CLASS BOOK
Our class book has arrived! Thanks to Fabienne who put together a fabulous display for the copy we donated to the library. Drop by and take a look if you're in the school.
PLANTS
We've started looking at the life cycle of plants and the class has been enjoying the exploration which has included a bean dissection, videos, diagrams and creating three different models of seeds to see which ones work best.
GEOMETRY
We are currently looking at 2D shapes and comparing and creating them based on their properties. By the end of the week, we should be doing the same thing with 3D shapes. With both, we are looking for shapes in the real world-- you can support this by playing I spy with your children.
BUTTERFLIES
We released the rest of our butterflies (and a moth guest) on Friday, but to our surprise, found what we think are eggs in our butterfly habitat. We'll be leaving the habitat in the classroom a little longer to see what happens.
POEMS
Presenting this week: Tuesday Tanis, Wednesday Taymin, Thursday Trevor, Friday Tyson
PHOTOS
I will be adding some photo to our class website this weekend. You can access the site anytime through the link of the Rayleigh home page.
Thank you for your support at home,
Pam
